At OpenText World 2024 in Las Vegas, the company announced major upgrades to its Secure Cloud platform, enhancing capabilities for Managed Service Providers with features aimed at improving operational efficiency and client security.

At the OpenText World 2024 event held recently in Las Vegas, significant advancements were announced regarding the Secure Cloud platform, aimed specifically at Managed Service Providers (MSPs). During the event, OpenText revealed an array of new features designed to bolster the operational capabilities of MSPs, thereby enhancing their ability to provide comprehensive security services.

Key highlights from the announcement included automated provisioning, improved product bundling, integrated task management, and enhanced reporting and analytics functions. These updates are expected to streamline MSP operations, allowing them to devote more resources to customer growth and retention, which are critical factors in the competitive tech landscape.

As indicated by the findings of the OpenText Cybersecurity’s 2024 Global Managed Security Survey, a majority—56%—of MSPs and Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) are selected by clients primarily due to their ability to deliver effective security services. To meet this demand, OpenText Cybersecurity is aiming to create a more straightforward pathway for MSPs to offer comprehensive security solutions through a unified platform designed for efficiency and scalability.

Sandy Ono, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at OpenText, expressed the company’s commitment to supporting channel partners as they navigate the changing landscape of cybersecurity requirements. Ono stated, “We are a one-stop-shop for MSPs from email protection and data risk management to cyber warranty and managed detection and response (MDR).”

The suite of enhancements includes a modernised interface, which is expected to enhance user experience for MSPs by incorporating new workflows. The integrated billing, payments, and invoicing functionalities are anticipated to reduce administrative workloads, thus providing more time for focus on client engagement and service delivery.

Additionally, new product bundles allow MSPs to offer tailored, cross-functional security solutions that integrate various essential services such as email risk management, compliance, and data risk management. This flexibility is particularly crucial for MSPs keen to differentiate themselves in the marketplace.

The Secure Cloud platform promises compatibility with leading management platforms, including ConnectWise, Kaseya, and Autotask. This integration is aimed at providing partners with a seamless solution that allows them to service their clients effectively while remaining vigilant against evolving cyber threats. New offerings introduced during the event include OpenText MDR, Cork Cyber Warranty, penetration testing services, and Azure Virtual Desktop, all of which contribute to the platform’s broadening capabilities.

As the demand for robust cybersecurity solutions remains high, the enhancements announced by OpenText during the Las Vegas event signal a strategic response to the needs of small-to-medium businesses that currently utilize the Secure Cloud services. With 100,000 such businesses already engaging with the platform, these upgrades are positioned to empower MSPs to offer more extensive and effective security solutions, addressing the widespread challenges posed by cyber threats in today’s digital landscape.
