Kodak Alaris has upgraded its KODAK Info Input Solution with generative AI, promising to enhance data management and streamline document processing for organisations.
Kodak Alaris Enhances IDP Capabilities with Generative AI Integration
Kodak Alaris has unveiled a significant enhancement to its Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) software, the KODAK Info Input Solution, by integrating advanced Generative AI capabilities. This development, announced recently, promises to streamline and automate complex document handling processes for organisations, thereby boosting both speed and accuracy in data management.
The newly released version, Info Input 7.1, is being recognized for enabling organisations to improve their decision-making capabilities by extracting better quality data from any document. Kodak Alaris’s IDP platform, renowned for its comprehensive approach, is built upon a distinct Open Intelligence design. This feature allows for seamless integration with leading AI services provided by tech industry giants such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, and Microsoft. Such integration facilitates quicker realisation of value through the utilisation of pre-built specialised models for processing common document types, including identification documents, claim forms, and invoices, as well as custom models tailored to the specific needs of clients.
A key figure in this innovation, Jim Forger, Vice President of Business Solutions at Kodak Alaris, highlighted the benefits of the Open Intelligence approach, which adopts a flexible, technology-agnostic path to IDP success. This approach affords organisations the opportunity to leverage trusted document AI services, offering diverse options inclusive of machine learning, large language models (LLMs), and Generative AI.
One of the major advancements in Info Input 7.1 is the integration of Amazon Textract, allowing users to directly engage with query capabilities within the software. This functionality permits the querying of data in unstructured documents, facilitating better workflow routing and decision-making without the data leaving the IDP platform. Additionally, Microsoft’s OpenAI engine is incorporated to summarise complex information within unstructured documents, assisting users in contextualising data efficiently.
Brent Wesler, Vice President of Strategic Technologies and Digital Automation at PiF Technologies, commented on the integration, noting that the combination of IDP and Generative AI capabilities will enable businesses to move beyond mere data extraction and validation, enhancing upstream decision-making processes and resulting in superior customer outcomes.
Kodak Alaris has received accolades for its IDP innovations, earning two Buyers Lab (BLI) awards from Keypoint Intelligence, including a 2024 Fall Pick Award for the Info Input Solution and a 2024-2025 Pacesetter Award for Excellence as a Capture & IDP Partner. Furthermore, the company has been recognised as a ‘Major Player’ in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) Software 2023-2024 Vendor Assessment.
Known for its enterprise data capture and intelligent document processing solutions, Kodak Alaris continues to simplify business processes worldwide. Their innovative offerings include award-winning software and document scanners, supported by a global network of channel partners.
