ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) Philippines has confirmed that the initial phase of operations for its STT Fairview 1 data centre is progressing according to schedule and is set to be operational by the second quarter of 2025. This announcement underscores the company’s commitment to meeting its projected timelines, having previously indicated the facility would be ready in the early part of 2025.
The STT Fairview campus, upon completion, will hold the title of the largest data centre in the Philippines, boasting a total IT capacity of 124 megawatts (MW). This capacity underscores the facility’s design to accommodate the growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) workloads within the country. The burgeoning field of AI is expected to significantly bolster the Philippine economy, with projections estimating that it could contribute as much as 12% or approximately US$92 billion to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by the year 2030.
Carlo Malana, the President and CEO of STT GDC Philippines, reiterated the company’s dedication to its timeline commitments.
