London’s famed ExCel exhibition centre will play host to this year’s Fintech Connect, as the highly anticipated event returns on the 4th and 5th of December 2024. Regarded as Europe’s only dedicated event for the entire fintech ecosystem, Fintech Connect promises to bring together over 2,000 participants including industry leaders, innovators, and key stakeholders from across the sector.

The two-day event is set to feature over 100 speakers who will delve into pivotal subjects shaping the fintech landscape. Among the key issues to be discussed are the evolving role of artificial intelligence in financial services, alongside the perennial debate of innovation versus regulation.

Attendees at this year’s Fintech Connect will have access to more than 80 content-rich sessions that include workshops, start-up showcases, and demonstrations of cutting-edge technology. The extensive exhibition floor will highlight the latest solutions propelling the transformation within the global payments landscape.

The event will focus on two main streams of discussion: Innovation and Implementation. Featured in these discussions will be an impressive line-up of experts and influential figures from various sectors, including representatives from major institutions such as HSBC, Starling Bank, Lloyds Banking Group, Bank of Ireland, and notable companies like TUI GROUP, Asos.com, Jaguar Land Rover, Uber, and Bumble.

Key topics of discussion will include:

  • AI and Machine Learning: Delving into the use of advanced AI to enhance banking products for consumers, the challenges and successes of partnering AI with fintechs, and the incorporation of customer-facing generative AI tools.

  • Open Banking: Discussions will revolve around forming successful fintech partnerships, onboarding third-party companies effectively, and scaling operations throughout business networks.

  • Innovation vs Regulation: This topic will tackle keeping payments fraud-proof, updating security features, and employing digital identity verification to ensure secure transactions.
