Karina Jadhav, the youngest participant in the Tiger Woods Junior Golf Invitational, excels in academics and Model UN, showcasing her talent and commitment to global issues.

Irvine student Karina Jadhav, who gained recognition last year for her achievement as the youngest participant in the 2023 Tiger Woods Junior Golf Invitational Tournament, is continuing to make waves in both her academic and extracurricular pursuits. Alongside her dedication to golf, Jadhav is an active student at Pacific Academy High School, where she participates in the school’s Model United Nations (UN) programme.

In 2022, Jadhav showcased her skills at the UN Headquarters in New York City, competing in an event that drew more than 2,700 students from over 70 countries. Her performance earned her the “Award of Distinction,” a recognition of her exceptional debate and diplomacy skills, highlighting her talent in navigating complex international discussions.

This year, Jadhav extended her academic endeavours internationally, travelling to India for a Model UN research project focused on the country’s largest telecommunications company, Reliance Jio. In her research, she examined Reliance Jio’s pivotal role in India’s digital transformation, particularly its efforts in rolling out 5G connectivity for a population of 1.4 billion.

The initiative has garnered interest from major global companies including Meta, Microsoft, and Google, which have partnered with Reliance Jio to facilitate the broader deployment of advanced digital technologies. During her visit, Jadhav had the opportunity to meet with Pankaj Pawar, the Managing Director of Reliance Jio, who provided her with valuable insights into the scale and impact of the company’s operations, as well as its influence on India’s technological landscape.

Upon her return to Irvine, Jadhav has now published a research paper which she is sharing with her peers. In this document, she outlines the significant role of digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI) in emerging markets, offering a keen analysis of how East-West collaboration is fostering new business opportunities on a global scale. Through her studies and research, Jadhav continues to contribute to important conversations surrounding technology and its implications for the future of business practices, reflecting her commitment to academic excellence and engagement with pressing global issues.
