The City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia will host the seventh edition of VDS, focusing on key themes like AI, sustainability, and women’s roles in technology, with over 600 global leaders set to attend.
The global innovation landscape is set to converge at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia for the seventh edition of VDS, scheduled for October 23rd and 24th, 2024. Under the theme “Embracing Evolution: Invest in the Leaders of Tomorrow,” the event promises two days of in-depth dialogue on the impacts of the technological revolution on society, featuring voices from across the global innovation ecosystem.
Organised by Startup Valencia, VDS2024 will assemble over 600 leaders from around the world to discuss various facets of technology and innovation. This year’s programme will focus on artificial intelligence, sustainability, health, future work trends, women’s roles in technology, and the new generation in the audiovisual sector. Activities will be staged across seven stages, including the Santander Stage, sponsored by Banco Santander, and the Green Stage, part of Valencia’s recognition as the European Green Capital for 2024.
The event will incorporate notable figures from various sectors. Valencia’s Mayor, María José Català, will take part in discussions at the event, alongside Hortensia Roig, President of EDEM Escuela de Empresarios, and other regional leaders. Spain’s Minister of Science, Innovation, and Universities, Diana Morant, will be present at the awards ceremony, lending her support to the event’s closing.
The lineup features leading tech visionaries such as Tom Mason, CTO of UnlikelyAI, and co-founder of Babbel, Thomas Holl. These figures will share their insights on the industry’s future, highlighting how technology is transforming various key sectors like healthcare and sustainability. Figures such as Randi Zuckerberg, Steve Chen, and Prince Constantijn van Oranje will also be making appearances, discussing significant trends and future opportunities in innovation.
The event will also host the Port Entrepreneurship International Congress, focusing on port innovation, and provide a gaming area focused on the convergence of video games with areas such as education and tourism. Sustainability issues will be given prominence on the Green Stage, with leaders discussing the growing need for sustainable urban transformation.
VDS2024 is supported by an array of strategic partners, including tech giants like Amazon and Google, and is aligned with multiple academic and governmental bodies to ensure robust and dynamic participation. This comprehensive representation highlights Valencia’s commitment to establishing itself as a major hub for innovation and technological dialogue.
Running in parallel, Sportel Monaco 2024 will unfold from 28th to 30th October at the Grimaldi Forum, offering a significant platform for sports media innovation and networking. This year’s edition introduces new elements such as the Women’s Lunch and the Innovation Stage, aiming to foster diversity and showcase cutting-edge technology solutions. High-profile panels and masterclasses, featuring discussions on major international sports events and evolving sponsorship strategies, are also part of the programme.
Sportel Monaco seeks to distinguish itself through its vibrant market floor and focus on global networking within the sports media industry. Notably, the event aims to expand its reach with new editions planned in New York and Miami, reflecting its commitment to adapting to the shifting landscape of sports media and technology.
Together, these two events illustrate a worldwide focus on innovation, fostering an environment where technology, media, and societal advancement can be explored and debated by some of the most influential voices in their respective fields.
