DEFCON AI has announced the extension of its Phase III SBIR contract with the U.S. Air Force, solidifying its commitment to delivering advanced modelling and simulation tools for military applications.
DEFCON AI Secures Extended Contract with U.S. Air Force for Advanced Military Simulation Tools
On 22nd October, DEFCON AI, a leading insights company specialising in next-generation modelling, simulation, and analysis tools for military applications, announced that the U.S. Department of the Air Force has opted to extend its existing Phase III Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract with the firm. This decision underscores a strategic long-term commitment to sustain and upgrade DEFCON AI’s software capabilities, thereby positioning the company for continued growth.
The evolution of this partnership traces back to the initial Phase III SBIR contract, which reached its closure in September 2022. This contract was awarded through the Air Force Installations and Sustainment Center in collaboration with the Air Mobility Command (AMC). It was primarily aimed at accelerating the transition of DEFCON AI’s Modelling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) toolset, known as ARTIV™, from a prototype to fully-fledged production-ready software.
By July 2024, DEFCON AI successfully delivered ARTIV to the U.S. Air Force, garnering positive feedback from the military branch. Concurrently, DEFCON AI launched a prototype of ARTIV via Second Front Solutions, a public-benefit software company, to the Department of Defense (DoD) Impact Level 6, which facilitates processing and planning of data at the secret classification level. As a result of these developments, the extension of the contract will remain in effect until September 2025.
In response to the extension, Yisroel Brumer, Co-Founder and CEO of DEFCON AI, commented, “AMC’s decision to exercise this second option year not only demonstrates its confidence in our ability to deliver cutting-edge, mission-critical technology to the Air Force, it also speaks to DEFCON AI’s progress as a company and our staying power within the defence industry.” Brumer emphasised that the contract extension allows for the continuous advancement of innovative logistics planning tools and the enhancement of the company’s existing optimisation and intelligent planning capabilities. Moreover, he highlighted that AMC planners would benefit significantly by being able to reduce planning times from days to mere minutes, with optimised solutions aimed at efficiency, effectiveness, and resilience.
This development reflects the growing significance of technology-driven solutions within the defence sector, particularly those enhancing operational planning and effectiveness. For DEFCON AI, the continued partnership with the U.S. Air Force signifies a robust endorsement of its technological prowess and sustained contributions to military capability advancements. As the contract progresses, DEFCON AI will be poised to further reinforce its foothold within the defence industry, continually refining its offerings in alignment with the needs of its military clientele.
