In a demonstration provided by Android Authority, Gemini was tasked with creating an image described as “a cute dog wearing a hat and sunglasses”. Following this, the user was able to instruct Gemini to modify the image by replacing the current hat with a birthday hat, a task the AI completed seamlessly.

While the capability to make detailed adjustments is not entirely new in the realm of AI image generators, Google’s effort to enhance Gemini’s image-generation tools represents a strategic move to compete with established platforms like ChatGPT’s DALL-E. These improvements are particularly noteworthy as Google seeks to provide alternatives to users, especially in anticipation of the release of Apple Intelligence’s Image Playground, which is expected later this year.
